Summer Dresses

I love summer dresses, and found these cuties at Topshop.  They have a fun, retro look to them.  This afternoon is rainy and damp.  A cup of tea and looking at pretty summer dresses is just what's needed.  Here's to summer getting here eventually!

Rescued!

Yesterday I was cranky all day.  No particular reason, the sun was shining (finally!), I got a lot of things done that I wanted to, but I was still just so cranky all day!  Finally, after dinner, I pulled out my Emergency Chocolate bar that Santa had left in my stocking and made some tea.

Then I got out some blank cards that were the beginnings of postcards for a swap I'm doing. But instead of making them into postcards, I took out my watercolors and turned them into some process art.  I spent ten minutes just randomly making swirls and shapes with color.  And I felt better!

Was it a testimony of the power of chocolate or art?  Either way, I felt better and went to bed less like a lion and more like a lamb.

upcycled

I've been fooling around with "upcycling" clothing lately, and came up with this funky shirt.  It is the best parts of two shirts I combined and then added a ruffle sash.

I'm not really loving it though.  I think it might look better sleeveless...and maybe lose the collar......or add a bright colorful ribbon sash instead of the ruffle.....what do you think?

Accessorized

I had so much fun shooting my b&w dress for the 52 Photos Prompt this week, I kept going with it! Here are the accessories I shot to accompany my dress photo.  Earrings of course, made by yours truly!

Photo Project 7/52

This week's prompt from Bella:

I chose to photograph a Nanette Lepore dress because I love dresses, and with summer coming and all, it just begged to be photographed.  

Tomorrow,  I may just have to photograph some accessories to go with it for fun!

Rainy day project

  
    I have made so many pairs of earrings over the last few months,  that I am running out of storage for them.  Today, I found this frame I'm no longer using.  It's a 15x30" frame.  So, with a little paint, glue, and a few dowels, I now have an easy way to store my earrings in the studio that's not too sore on the eyes.  I can easily see what I have for inventory, and not wonder which box I put which earrings in.
  The picture is a little fuzzy because I took it tonight in low light, since I wanted to post about it.  Now, that it's up on the wall, I'm headed back to the studio to add the rest of my earrings.  Hopefully, they will all fit or I'll be looking for another frame!
